Importance of Color
Throughout my life, I have often heard about the importance of color in any form of art. Color this, color that, and how everyone becomes a critic with a finished piece, no matter what it looks like. It often seems to be an obsession, in my opinion. Have we overcomplicated art in our pieces? That could be a topic for another time, though. I do know the importance of color anyway. Color is really beautiful.
For example, looking at a sunset is proof of it. There are some sunsets that are just OK. The colors of the sunset donโt really pop at us, or are not as bright or neon-like as others. But then there are those other sunsets that those colors really do POP out at us, grabbing our attention in a coveted way. This is where many artists are at today. They want the color to grab our attention so much that it completely knocks us off our feet. Having a good color combination could help with this effect. Studying sunsets, especially, could help us learn all about color in our own pieces. It did for me! ๐
I had learned over the years that color can either make or break the artwork, depending on what we do with it. It must be studied at carefully.
