Is Art Important Today?

Posted on February 25, 2026February 25, 2026 by Kristen

The short answer: YES.

Even in the rapid age of AI blooming in every corner of the world, I believe art is much more important today than ever before. As a Christian, I see how hungry people really are for something real. Real and transparency goes further than AI ever will. We were created with souls. Machines don’t have souls so anything those “create” are meaningless. If it does “create” anything that sparks emotion within us, then that opens up a void that we are desperately seeking even in deceptive ways. Anything can spark an emotion no matter what it is, but real ALWAYS goes much further.

I fully believe that the devil hates the arts and creativity the most because it ultimately leads to The Creator. The devil tries to stop anything from being created, either from divorce, abortion, careers, and everything else on this planet. Anything created leads to being a creator and then the Ultimate Creator. Why else would many hate the arts being a viable career choice? Because ultimately the real reason beneath is the enemy of all of us: Satan.

Art will always be important especially in the age of AI. My skill level is definitely not very far at this time but I will always be happy with it now than anything AI could ever do. I don’t care if someone creates stick people. If it’s created by real people, then it’s a success in my opinion. When we take away the arts, we would be taking away the Creator.

There’s nothing wrong with the arts. It’s only when we start worshipping the created things instead of the Creator, then that’s the problem such as when the Israelites made that golden calf. That golden calf could be our modern day cell phone creation. Many of us (yes, I admit myself included) are more yoked to our phones than opening up the Bible and worshipping our own Creator. Sad, but true. Things could be pretty and also used as a tool, but if it takes our attention away from God, then there’s an issue there and that’s where idolatry has a role. Most likely we all have posters, paintings, decorative pillows in our homes, but we don’t really worship those at all. It’s just there mainly for comfort, right? Exactly, so there is a difference 🙂

We don’t have to look very far either that many people are waking up into wanting more real things instead of AI. AI is definitely losing its trend, just like anything else of trend over the years. I still remember those anxiety balls (I forgot the exact name) that went complete trendy before and now stores have trouble selling them. When will we ever learn that anything trendy usually has an expiration date? Not always of course since technology became trendy and we’re all still using tech 🙂 it’s just go way too out of control. Good for us for recognizing its limits 🙂 I was that person who didn’t like digital art for a reason either and that hands will always be better with creativity than anything digital. I’ve learned since then. Digital art is different than AI for sure. You still create even on tech. With AI, your hands don’t move at all. There’s no brain work. AI is dull and useless longterm. There, I said it.

Anyway, I probably have gone down way too many rabbit holes for the topic of the day (haha) but I just wanted to write that art is still important today. It always will be. No one, including AI, could ever take away the true value of art. It will always have value no matter what people come to say.
